Hi-

I've recently started to work in projection booth at the 15-plex I work at. I've found this forum very interesting and informative for some the issues I've come across.

After reading many comments on both Christie and Simplex projectors it occured to me I didn't know what kind of projectors we were running. The 15 projectors we have are all marked "Raytheon" and "Laser Audio", but no specific model. I haven't heard anything about Raytheon projectors on this forum and am curious why. Any one have any info? They're all running with Xetron lamp houses and Christie AW3R platters (which seem to be VERY common.)

Any information would be appreciated.

thanks!

I have never heard of a projector manufacturer by that name. Can you get pictures?

It's the ERNEMANN 15 Made by Raytheon. It's one of those new "electronic" projectors with the DC stepper motors driving the sprockets. The soundhead is built in as an "all-in-one" projector. The projector is sold in the USA by BIG SKY.

The Ernaman 15 is not an electronic projector but is a timming belt drive with a sealed gearbox/intermitttent.
It is a redesign of the Zeis Ernaman12
The Ernaman 16 is an electronic projector and is easily identified by a red turret.
The main importer is Xetron as well as BigSky and others
It is an exceptionally reliable machine but the velvet gate bands must be kept spotlessly clean
The laser scanner doesn't have the most even coverage ofd light though
Probably one of the best machines on the market today
