Thought I'd put these answers on the forum here, as I'm getting many emails on these questions...First, some people are confused as to the constant application of FilmGuard. Once you put FilmGuard on a print no, you do NOT have to keep running it on that print. You can stop after one run, 10 runs, 100 runs, 1000 runs, whatever, and it will not damage the print or have any adverse effects upon not applying it anymore.
Second, you do not have to have a cleaner for every screen. Ideally there should be at least one cleaner per seven screens so they can be cycled for a full day per screen, but there are 20+ plexes who are cycling only two cleaners in order to hit all the screens with excellent results.
Third, "less is more". In other words, the benefits achieved with such a small amount as is dictated in the instructions are not doubled if twice the amount is used on the film. Literally, that one 32oz bottle is enough to clean every print on every performance of an 8 screen.
Finally, FilmGuard is distributed ONLY in 32oz bottles. Should you receive a smaller sized bottle, please notify us immediately. (filmguard@film-tech.com) There was one dealer who was rebottling it into untested containers and tossing the rest of the "kit" (including the instructions) which made using it very confusing and difficult without those rewinder cores. This is not permitted and we are taking steps to ensure this does not happen again. We have made good as a manufacturer by sending out full sized bottles with the kits at our cost to those theaters who bought smaller bottles and would appreciate any further tips if this is happening anywhere else.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks!
