On another topic, Scott Norwood admitted that he enjoys inspecting film.

I do too.

Last night, I finished inspecting a 135 minute movie from 1972. It took nearly 5 hours to completely check. Some reels had very few problems, others had lots of old cement splices that pop when flexed even slightly. Using my Marble splicer, I taped over all of the cement splices, and remade ones that were crooked, which, I must say, there were many.
Hopefully, all this work will hold on this print for a long time. It ran just fine when I ran it last night on the Holmes.

I used to inspect 16mm for TV in the 80's, too. I love it!

The Sweedish archive print mentioned on another topic would be a prime candidate for my magic fingers.

It's also a great joy for me to build up a collector print, after all you will have it for a long time. My opinion is you might as well do it proberly first time.

I also like to get rid of those 'lab' splices once and for all ( those in the middel of the frame )

Of cause the biggest joy is to give that print the first 'layer' of Filmguard

I also like inspecting film. Problem is it takes too much time and there is too little reward (we get all new prints).

Take last week for example. We built 4 prints and tore down 10. We barely got it all down the way it was, much less with inspection time.
