I have a meeting set up with the daughter who inherited her late father's drive-in theater in Tennessee. I am planning on purchasing the contents of their entire projection booth. What would reasonable prices should I offer for their equipment.

2 - Simplex XL Projectors
2 - 4kw Xenon Lamphouses (3 yrs old)
1 - 3 deck "Cinetron" platter
1 - Neumade splicer
1 - Make-up table
1 - Neumade Rewind bench

I've got a week to come up with some numbers, any help would be appreciated.

She's selling the place for the value of the land only, and I just lucked up on the equipment?

The theater is a dump. The screen tower is made of all concrete block, with the exception of the top corner which was knocked down during a storm last spring. The marquee was run over by a semi truck in February and she's got buyers already for the land for future development.

Thats too bad Barry, Nashville should be able to support a drive in with no problem....even several of them. The only real problem that owners face is that the sometimes the taxes on the place exceed what they can make in a season....but other wise... why close it?

Of course Charlie Wolk would only offer a grand for everything. That might work in this case too.

Don't worry about a low offer on the Simplexes, make a low offer on the drive-in and keep a little bit of cinemas heritage alive.

If anyone wants to buy one there is one in Indiana that looks the goods. Ad is from Boxoffice and number is (812) 876 7350.

One drive-in's projection gear here was given away for free - everything, including speakers and JB's.
