I was just wondering what kind of on screen "policy" your theatre uses? the last theatre I worked for used this circa 1970 looking Techno thing from pike productions (complete with the soda cup and candy box magically flying into the trash can) the theatre I work for now uses the Pepsi one with the barbie dolls (Considerate movie nieghbors make good movie neighbors!!!) I just wanted to know if anyone works at a theatre that uses a wierd policy trailer or if anybody thinks these things are actually effective in making people shut up and throw thier trash away

The best policy trailer I've ever seen was the Mr. Bean policy that Grammercy put out to promote the movie.

Short of having a big guy to walk in front of the screen and yell "throw your trash away...or else", I don't think anything will change.

Naa.. the opening minute of the 'Escape From L.A.' trailer has got to be the best policy trailer by far!

Oh yes. I had forgotten about that! The Robocop 2 teaser made a nice "no smoking" point too.

"Coke - Snack Canyon"! - A personal favorite of mine (bad animation - and it features Tab!), but my friends think I'm weird. I'm also partial to the talking Bic lighters "no smoking" tags from the '80s.

Most of the chains have their own policies: Regal shows (used to show?) a horrible "Train" one that looked like it was animated on someone's Commodore 64. AMC has the Happy Film Clip Guy. GCC has the Candy Band/Happy Popcorn Guy. Sony/Loews has something that can't be focused and which ends with a white background (that always is filled with dust and scratches). National Amusements has a cheap-looking animated thing. And so on...

For midnight shows of "Rocky Horror," I highly recommend showing the strictest-sounding policy trailers you can find. Our audiences really liked the ones that I showed: "No talking," "Keep the floor neat beneath your seat!" and "Please replace your speaker" (the drive-in policy).
