Hi guys---what's the difference between a CAT 69T test film and a CAT 69T50? Media Technology Source is charging .80 for the 69T and $40 for the 69T50. is the .80 a "by the foot" charge? --thanks! john

I think you're seeing two prices for the same thing:
Cat 69T @.80 .......... Cat 69T50 @ $40 .......... $0.80 * 50 = $40

My guess is that they are telling you that it comes in 50 foot rolls but if you only want, say, 10, feet you pay by the foot.

Buy the whole roll. Your test loops will eventually get all beat up and you'll be glad you have some fresh stuff one of these days!

It does always seem to be backordered
NT AudioVisual makes it for them and they are always backlogged

That was the dolby tone film, not the B&W one.

Gordon, I have inherited a couple of trans arc power supplies. The input is fine but I dont understand the output, two large cables come from the coils, each is then split into two so I now have four. Each pair of wires is connected to a large aluminium heat sink but there doesn't seem to be any connections on the other side?

Gordon:

Last I checked, Ultra no longer supplies the film...NTAV that made both Ultra's and Dolby's twin track (b/W) test film won't do it anymore.

That is too bad Mr Allen won't be able to tune his hps4000 systems anymore since it is a requirement that the Ultra stereo B/W film be used.
It is true the azimuth and focus is much better defined with the B/W
