I'm curious to know just how many Film-Techers got pre-scratched, brand new prints of The Contender. Between 2 prints, I had to replace 4 reels. I've spoken to a few other theaters directly who have reported this same problem and another forum member has already mentioned this problem on the Feature Info forum.

Who else? How widespread was this? Also, did you just take it, or did you put in a call to the 1-800-TES bitch line for a replacement?

I had only a very slight problem. It was a very fine, jumping black scratch right at the beginning of reel one. In the time it took me to run up and make sure it wasn't the projector, or a threading mistake, it was gone, so I didn't bother.
