I am a professional freelance writer who is currently conducting research on my forthcoming book profiling the life of Nellie Bly Baker O'Bryan, reportedly the first female licensed projectionist in California.

Nellie Bly Baker began her Hollywood career in 1917 working as a PBX Operator for Charlie Chaplin. She later began to take "bit parts" on the silent screen as a feminine performer, later obtaining the first reported projectionist's license. Nellie Bly Baker would have been a projectionist during the 20's and 30's.

I can truly equate this mission similar to finding a needle in a haystack! I have contacted the Local 150 which was chartered in 1908, but was told their archives don't go back that far.

I will be certain to report proper credit to anyone who can provide assistance in my forthcoming book.
