I have been one of the critics of TES on this forum, so to be fair I feel I should report when something good happens.A couple months ago I received a print (Remember the Titans) on Friday with no DTS disks enclosed. The print had come from another theatre. I called TES, told them that the disks HAD to be shipped to us via the US Postal Service, because in this small town that's the only way we can get Saturday delivery. Needless to say, the disks were shipped by Airborne anyway and we didn't get them until Monday. That evening about 9:00, I fired off a very angry E-mail to Brad Carroll, TES representative, and within three hours of my e-mail he had responded saying he would check into the matter and call me the following week to discuss it. Of course I was certain I'd never hear from him; but he did call me on the following Tuesday and stated that TES was working on a solution. He said that originally, TES's contract with Airborne called for them not to use any other shipping services, however when they made the deal, they failed to consider the rural areas that do not get Airborne delivery on Saturday (there are a few places that only get two or three delivery days each week!). So they were negotiating with Airborne and with other carriers, to make sure they could provide every day delivery to every address they served. Once again, I took all this with a grain of salt; and I was really surprised today when Mr. Carroll called me again, and told me that as of this past Monday, TES can now use UPS and the Postal Service, as necessary, to get deliveries where they need to be. He said if you are in a non-metro area, and you call in for an emergency reel replacement, DTS disk, etc. the operator should now ask what carrier you want, so you can specify what will work for you. I was impressed by this. We've also gotten several prints lately on Wednesday including a Sixth Day print for this weekend. So maybe they are listening after all. If so, bravo!
