The 2001 June 20 National Labor Relations Board decision and order on Regal Cinemas and several IATSE projection locals is available online at the NLRB website.

I read it, and now I know less than when I started.

Looks like Regal took a real beating on this one. When you deal with a union, negotiate a contract, and then decide to make unilateral decisions instead of bargaining in good faith, you're asking for trouble. Regal got it.

I agree with Paul.... After the first page, my eyes started to glaze over...

But it does look like Regal lost on several decisions. Question is, what compensation will the operators get after all this time?

Jeffry, if I remember, you were invloved with this. Has Regal complied with the findings of the NLRB as stated in that document?

It's a bit strange.. in school, they told us not to create run-on sentences. Yet this document has ones longer than any 2nd grade kid would think of...!

John, knowing how Regal operates, I don't think they will comply with anything.

Sorry, I wasn't involved. My local (160) is just north of Akron's local (364), which was part of this case.

As far as I know, Regal can still appeal this NLRB decision and order. So, no, at this time Regal has not complied.

Well, after all, you guys only have a "few remaining minimal tasks." [Confused]

Actually what does this all mean? Even if they order them to bargain can they force Regal to sign a contract, like say they say $5/hr...take it or leave it? Especially if they can show such wages being paid for similar work elsewhere. How does that work?
