Author Topic: Cinema Digital Reel Jeff Joseph Expert Film Handler Posts: 131 From: Palmdale, CA, USA Registered: Jun 2000 posted 07-12-2001 03:26 PM                        I've come across a 70mm test reel for "CDS" (Cinema Digital Sound), a process that no longer exists. It was used briefly in the mid 80's. Is there anyone out there who can use this? I'll give it away to whomever can actually use it... We had that in Copenhagen in 35mm (substandard movie format of course). CDS was introduced in 1991, not the mid 80s. I did a short about it for Perry Sun's "Movie Sound Page". If someone were to ask me when CDS came out I would not have a clue as to the date..yet I was involved with both New York City set up's. When you mentioned "Dick Tracy" the memories flooded back.
