I was so happy to hear a movie use Surround EX as well as Jurassic Park 3 did. It actually made me glad I purchased a SA-10. I got our SA-10 for Star Wars and put it in our THX theatre. When the THX tech came to re-certify our theatre he ran Jungle Noise through and I was amazed and when Star Wars got here I thought I had wasted my money , now I don't once I heard Jurassic Park 3. Hopefully the trend in good EX sound will continue.

Well, more channels are a good thing, but I think the general opinion is that the $2600 (or so, including labor and parts, etc.) for an EX unit is better spent on other things.

If all your other sound and picture equipment is up-to-date; sure why not. But if you've got lenses that are over 20 years old; a screen that saw, "Apocolypse Now" the first time around; projectors that shutter-ghost; can't make 16fL of brightness on screen; etc., etc., than fix those first.
