For those Film-Techs that find themselves in SoCal that evening, our meeting is free and open to non-members and guests:

Date: Tuesday, March 19th

Time: 8:00 pm

Place:
Autry Museum of Western Heritage
100 Zoo Drive (Griffith Park)
Los Angeles, CA

Parking: Free, at the Museum

Topic: Content Delivery via the Internet: Legitimate Distribution Models and Unauthorized Distribution

A general overview of content delivery via the Internet will be given. Content piracy trends will be described including those more specific to motion picture distribution via the Internet, including IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and peer to peer activity. Current and future anti-piracy enforcement alternatives will be discussed by our speaker from a company that specializes in content piracy tracking and anti-piracy alternatives.

The session promises to be informative and provide key information to anyone involved in motion picture creation, post production and distribution. As content delivery via Internet expands, understanding both its opportunities and liabilities is essential.

Speaker: Gary Millin, President, MediaForce

Dinner: There will be an informal/no-host gathering at the Crocodile Cafe on the Brand Boulevard exit, south of the 134 Freeway in Glendale (about one mile from the Museum), at 6:00 PM. Dinner is off-menu ordering. Please call the SMPTE bulletin board at 818-771-8103 for reservations. Reservations must be received no later than 5:00 PM, Monday, March 18th.
