Oh where oh where can he be? (Ok, I'll stop with my horrible singing and just give the link.) From the Dolby website...
Ted Costas Appointed Director of Distributor Services for Dolby Laboratories
Hollywood, June 11, 2002—Ted Costas has been appointed Director of Distributor Services, a new position, for Dolby Laboratories, Inc. Mr. Costas will oversee services offered by Dolby to US film distributors. This includes the sample checking of release prints, which Dolby has previously only performed in Europe. He will also expand the services offered by Dolby on Digital Cinema releases.
"We are proud to have Ted join Dolby Laboratories as a key member of our motion picture services team," said David Gray, Vice President, Hollywood Film Production. "His broad experience in motion picture operations, his relationships with distribution and laboratories, and his understanding of the challenges digital cinema presents will serve us well."
"It is a great opportunity for me to develop a domestic distributor film services program to match the success of our European program," said Costas. "I look forward to this challenge, and to maintaining the high level of quality the industry expects from Dolby."
Previously, Mr. Costas was Senior Manager, Sales and Operations, for Lucasfilm Ltd.'s THX, overseeing sales and operations for THX's distribution and postproduction services including the Theater Alignment Program (TAP), the Digital Mastering Program (DMP), and the Digital Cinema Program. During that time, Mr. Costas was instrumental in helping to launch digital technology throughout the film postproduction chain, and he was also involved with the establishment of the TASA program, which monitors and enforces trailer volume standards for the MPAA.
Prior to that position, Mr. Costas served as Postproduction Supervisor for THX, where he supervised Theater Alignment Program laboratory quality assurance services, and oversaw all of TAP postproduction and distribution activities. He holds a BA in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Congrats Ted!
