Well, I've decided that we need to replace our old Megadater tags (Feature presentation & Previews of Coming Attractions).

The problem is, I've got the samples videos from Sound Associates and Jack Roe, and they all look rubbish.

Went looking for NSS (National Screen Services), but couldn't find them anywhere. Do they still exist?

So all in all: can anyone suggest a good tag/supplier?

Hi Neil:

You can check out our offerings at http://www.WRonyourscreens.com
We don't have a huge catalog of generic trailers, but at least they're not as ancient as some (unless you like the nostalgia aspect). I don't think I have quicktimes up on the "Feature Presentation" or "Coming Soon" trailers, but I can email them to you if you like (they might be biggish files, so let me know if your server can handle them).
Doug

We have the same proble. We run the megadater tag as there seems to be noting better in the UK. Personally I haven't seen the other stuff but I did here is was rubbish.

National Screen (Who supply Quads, trailers ect) still exist. (Don't think the do tags though)

Their phone no is : 0181 992 3240
Fax: 0181 752 0593

And MPD 'Moving Print Distribution' Supply quads etc for films not covered by National Screen
Phone: 0181 498 4450
Fax: 0181 498 4451

Do Megadater do a 'feature presentation tag' (We only currently have the 'Previews of...' tag). Is the feature tage avalible in scope?

Neil / Michael....

I agree the Jack Roe tags are not the best.... but the Sound Associates tags are quite good with a wide range to choose from. They are bright sharp with good sound quality and don't look computer generated like the Jack Roe tags.

Give them a second look you may change your mind.

Hi Bernard...

I used to use the Jack Roe tags.... and I'm sorry but they look awful and tacky. They are clearly computer generated and look cheap and dated.

Not seen the Omnex tags... will check them out.

By the way... I use the Sound Associates tags so I'm talking from personal experience.

We got Jerry from Sound Associates to send us the video, but they just all looked bad compared to Megadater.

Michael> Yup, it also works really well with the 'Previews of Coming Attractions' tag. It's basically the same, but with different text.

I'll scan some frames and send them to you if you want.

Hmm... Just heared the 'previews' tag roll through the gate. Time to break out a new one methinks...

Mind you if you say something less complimentary yourself Sandie may send them to you direct

Let's see how much attention they are giving us!!

National screen no longer make their titlers. I think they stoped when they got taken over by Carlton?.
At the moment I am using Jack Roes, Sound Associates and Omnexs titlers.
Jack Roes "Certification Trailer" and the new "Previews Of Coming Attractions" are stunning. The imges are good but the music is the best. The "Mobile phones" is very effective as the music is so anoying the audiance look at the screen to see what is going on.
The Sound Associates "Globe" trailers on screen they look and sound
very good. I havnt yet got one of the "Theatre" trailers. I also use the "Courtesy is contagious" from Cinema concepts that they sell.
The Omnex Mega and Superdaters are good.
There are lots of good titlers out there from all of the above suppliers and also one or two bad ones ( I have a bad collection as well).
The videos and downloads dont do the trailers justice. The best way to see them is on a big bright screen with lots of volume.
And no Im not on comission from any of them.

There is another Jack Roe lurker out there !!!!!!!!!
Also the Jack Roe titlers are Scotchgard coated. So they last a very very long time and still look good after 2 years.
