Hi everyone.

I do not know the Dolby CP650 like my old Cp500!
To switch the 650 in bypass mode I have to push the "power" button. When the button will light in RED the unit is in bypass, right?

And the bypass level is set by the large black knob, right? What about if in Bypass I have no sound in the auditorium? Is it possibile that the "bypass" trimmer inside the panel is set to minimum?

Thanks!

Antonio

You are correct that when you push the power button and it glows red, you are in bypass. I cannot recall how the bypass volume is set. I know that on older processors there is a trim pot on one of the cards inside. Not sure if that's the case with the 650. If you are not getting any sound in bypass, there may be a problem with the bypass power supply, or the volume could be set too low.

Bypass level on a CP650 is adjusted via a potentiometer hidden behind the grey front panel flap. There are two pots here, and if my memory serves me correctly, the left hand pot controls bypass level and the right hand one controls the microphone input level (3 pin XLR on rear of CP650).

David is right, there are 2 pots, 1 is for mic and the other for bypass. To get a rough bypass level, listen to film sound during normal operating level, switch to bypass, then adjust trim pot to near the same level, a little lower is good as you are not getting sound from all speakers and you dont want to over drive drivers to reach the level.
