According to two projectionists and a manager at one of my theatres, one of our "Agent Cody Banks" (Reel-1) is printed in such a way that it is impossible to cut on a frame-line.

At first we thought it was a bad splice but, apparently, it's the way it got printed -- all splices to that reel will be bad. I'm going over there to take a look for myself right now before I go and order a replacement reel.

Anybody else got a bad Reel-1 of this movie?

No problems with ours but I have seen this happen before. Once I had it happen thru half a reel and once for just a few feet. Both incidents occured after a lab splice.

I've seen that a few times over the years.
Royal pain in the rear when it happens.

Thanks. I'd never seen that before.

(Replacement reel already on the way.)

A possible explanation is that the film jumped a sprocket during printing, likely after a lab splice. Was the image also slightly out of focus for a brief time?

If so, it would be a one-time incident that affected only one reel of one print.
