If you have access to the old CD-ROMs Dolby has distributed, then you can downgrade...however...some versions of the PCBs need the later firmware to operate IIRC.

Any version of CP-650 firmware less than 2.0 is subject to loosing its settings.

I have found that version 2.0.10.8 to be quite stable but it will not work with the newer boards for using the internal crossover.

In my opinion...any version prior to 1.2.3 was more of a beta version...you'd get funky things like noise coming out of a channel if you raised say the 250Hz band on the 1/3 octave EQ...version 1.1.7 fixed that (among other things).

If you have an older CP-650...go to the 2.0.10.8...it has yet to fail me.
