Help!

I'm setting up a CP200, and all seems in good order except the fader knob... it just spins freely. I tried tightening the nut under the cap but apparently that's not the problem. I can pull the knob out and the hollow shaft it's clamped onto comes with it. All I see underneath the knob is a short shaft in the middle of the vernier dial. The vernier dial seems to work.

Am I missing a part here? Is there any other adjustment in the base of the fader pot, or do I have to get a replacement?

Many thanks in advance!

The pot is broken internally and will have to be replaced. Seen this happen before.
