Word on the street is that Sonic Equipment in Iola, KS (a theatre supply house) has bought Kneisley Mfg (in Toledo...home of the Xenex) and will be moving mfg operations to Iola in the near future. Sonic has been a Kneisley distributor so now they will be together in a new facility for both.

The company changed hands last year and should do a good job of continuing Richard Kneisley's legacy.

The "word on the street" is partly correct. Kneisley Equipment was purchased last March and re-named Kneisley Manufacturing. However, Sonic Equipment did not purchase the company, they remain two distinct operations owned by the same owner.

A new manufacturing facility is almost complete in Iola, Kansas and it will house Kneisley Manufacturing and Sonic Equipment. Several employees of Kneisley have already made (or will make in the next week or so) the move from Toledo to Iola and will continue working to carry on Richard Kneisley's legacy of making high quality lamphouses for the cinema industry, shadowgraph machines for the glass industry, and transformers for the search-light and marine vessel industry.

Betty left the new Kneisley in March to enjoy her retirement. After 42 years, she certainly had earned it!
