Anyone having problems with Pirates dropping out of SRD into SR, we've one screen with a problem? The adds and trailers are ok(4-5 on the CP-650) but pirates is pushing 7 or even 8 and ossasionally dropping out.

Not on Pirates prints I've seen but all the Spiderman prints I've seen playing had bad DTS tracks on reel 6.

That's odd. I was just looking at that yesterday and was pleased to see solid 0-1s here on CP650s with Kinoton basement readers (and FilmGuard). Sounds like you need to calibrate your readers.

It is not uncommon for Kinoton basement readers to track better than penthouse readers.

Also, I'm not sure Dolby uses the same algorythms for determining the number on the CP650 as they used on the DA20. Afterall...who would know...an F is an F but the rest...there could be number deflation!

Constant 5 all way through the film with some of the ads and trailers hitting as low as 1 !!
Cinemeccanica basement reader, Dolby DA20 CP65 combo print filmguarded and PTRs run all shows.

R.1 is a 5 for us, while the following reels are in the 3 to 4 range.

Trailers ahead of the feature were at 2 and 3, except for a new Dolby BEE trailer, which has an error rate of 6. Hmmm.

It's a CP500 with a Cat. 702 reader.

Looking at 3 different prints at another theater here running Christie projectors with BACP penthouses and FG. Steady 1s in two houses and 1-2s in the third house.

How do you guys get 1's?!?? We rarely fail, but never do we get 1's. We are typically in the 2-5 range in all 18 screens. We use Kelmar basement digital/analog readers and CP650's.

It is all due to the alignment of the reader and the cleanliness of the print. Remember, dirt that is so small you don't see on screen is dirt big enough for the SRD camera to see and block part of the data.

And be sure to clean your gate rails and bands between shows. Build up on the gate rails and bands will wear down the SRD track.

Very true, very true, but remember if your print is clean and properly lubricated, it won't be leaving anything behind in the projector. [Cool]
