Greetings,
I am planning to open a single screen theater (90% done planning) and need to find a booker. We'd like to show 35mm first-runs, subs, and some spanish translations of these as well.
Any help is appreciated.

Call the Independent Marketing Edge at this number:

406-587-1251

and ask for a copy of the Showtime Buyer's Guide. It has listings on anything you could possibly need for your theatre, including bookers.

The same office is home to Clark Film Buying, which is the booking service we use. Ask for Verl or Drew.

The Buyer's Guide book is free, although as a non-subscriber to the IME they may ask you to pay postage or a small fee for it. Whatever, it's worth it. 132 pages of everything you could possibly need. Booker listings start on page 12 of the current issue.

While you're at it, ask for samples of the IME newsletter. It's expensive ($250/year) but very timely and full of great information. Among other things, it'll provide you with artwork for all your ads.

Tell 'em Mike from Forsyth sent you. Good luck with your theatre. As a single screener myself, I'm here to tell you it CAN work. But prepare to work hard!

Thx Mike. Verl books for a friend of mine in Utah and is completely satisfied on how Verl has taken care of him. I would recommend Verl to any new owner since his creditability has paid off.

Course, I remember Verl from the good ol' T.O.I. days when he was a manager with this infamous circuit...

Mike, Verl was a good first contact, thanks. He appreciated being referred by you. Sorry, Monte, he hadn't heard of you. IME samples are on their way and they are comping a Buyers Guide.

Greetings

Over here in the UK, the best place to find film booker is in the nearest public house to the said bookers office!

From Cambridge

Goodnight
