I know I saw this somewhere on here. I'm pretty sure Clint posted it. What is the best cable to use from the USB port on a PC to the serial port on the JSD80?

If your laptop has Bluetooth you may want to consider that option. I'm going to try a Bluetooth Serial adaptor out and see how it works instead of the stupiod sometimes works sometimes doesn't serial to usb dongle.

USL recommend and possibly can supply a specific one, in our experience it works very well.

Last JSD80 I installed, had a page in the manual with the details on.

Personally I'm using one from Pico Technologies, the PicoScope people. Zero issues with it. http://www.picotech.com/usb_data_acquisition.html

Kinoton recomend using an opto isolator on the serial side, http://www.commfront.com/RS232-RS485-RS422-Serial-Converters/RS232-Isolator-3-wire.htm or similar.

I use a PC card serial adapter made by Socket Mobile. Works great for all serial communications I need.
