Even the best thermal pastes have worse thermal conductivity than the metals they're joining; they're just there to improve the interface. This is, of course, more important for computer processors where the heat sink is held on with spring tension, than semiconductors held on with studs or screwed to the heatsink, as the pressure will force excess compound out.  |  IP: Logged Mark Gulbrandsen Resident Trollmaster Posts: 16657 From: Music City Registered: Jun 99 posted 01-07-2010 09:44 AM                     I agree Jeremy.
