I've got a Furman PL-8 Power Conditioner / Power bar in the top of my sound rack. The unit has two small incandescent lights that pull out from the front and they have a rotary dimmer switch connected to them.

Worked fine for years, then the other night I noticed when the dimmer knob was turned down to it's lowest setting, the light on the left was barely glowing (like it should be, but the one on the right looked like it was turned all the way up. Rotating the dimmer switch, the one on the left went to full brightness, and the one on the right went "super bright" then blew. Thought it might be a fluke in the bulb so I changed the bulb and did it again - same result.

What could cause the dimmer to work properly on one side, but overdrive the power to the other? Doesn't make sense to me.
