I would like to add a remote focus to my JJ. Does anyone have any pictures of their Century remote focus they would mind sharing?
I welcome any suggestions you might have as to equipment type, gear ratios, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Don, there's a guy I met once in Los Angeles that rigged up a really cool remote focus. I don't think he's a member of this forum. I will give you his email address in a PM.

Don, I designed one many years ago for Knott's Berry Farm when that had that insipid 3D movie there. If I can find the paperwork I can provide you with the part # of the gearmotor I tested that worked well. It was 12vdc and from Grainger's. I should also have the schematic for the reversing control for the motor too.

As for the gear ratio I think I had tried 1:1 with that motor and it worked well.

I found a unused custom remote focus here in Atlanta that actually came off a JJ. Works great!!
Thanks for the help.

I know that this is a late response, but it might be useful to someone: I have heard of people doing this with remote focus motors and controllers that are designed for telescopes. Apparently, these are widely available at reasonable prices.
