I want to purchase an MDI microperf 3D (silverized) screen, maybe their newer one that supposedly has better light uniformity at the edges. Does one need to go thru a theatrical supplier or can you just order the size needed directly from Strong? If you need to go to a supplier, can anyone recommend one who won't get pushed out of shape for just a small order? We just need a small, one-off screening room size screen -- 12ft width scope.

Point me in a direction. Thanks

I think you will find the dealers gone and Strong becoming a super dealer.

Ahem...not all dealers are gone! Ultimately, Strong will sell directly but a dealer will likely be able to beat the price and if you have an established relationship with the dealer...you'll have terms...which Strong is unlikely to extend on a 1-off.

I'll be very upfront about this. My past dealings with MDI have been very negative... every single time. When you call there to check on your order they are very rude... a very typical trait of French Canadians. I literally quit using them because the packing and shipping have gotten to be ludricous. And you they are not dependable enough on shipment to plan a job properly. I completely quit buying any MDI because you have no idea when it is going to arrive. Customers ALWAYS complain about the shipping costs.

I also find that Harkness screens are quite superior overall to the product that MDI is selling.

Also consider looking into Severtsen Screens. I have sold and installed a lot of them over the past 5 years... just did a 40' wide Severtsen Silver screen a month ago and it was flawless. The packing charges here are considerably less expensive than both Harkness and MDI and IMHO the quality is even better. It's probably why Severtsen is now the main supplier for giant screen theaters and IMAX and Cinemark and AMC and just about every other large chain. The Severtsen vinyl is also quite a bit heavier which makes them much more durable.

I agree with Mark. Millions of excuses/blame, but still no screen.
