what is the fluid used in Century soundhead dampener assemblies? (besides Century soundhead dampener fluid) 10 wt. oil? something more exotic?

It's silicon fluid, I think 100 CS... but I don't know where that number popped into my head from. I used to have a few little bottles of the stuff but probably tossed them out.

It is Castor Oil (no kidding). When Century distributed it in glass bottles, they didn't even remove the label but just put a new label over top.

What Dave said. If you get the real silicon stuff it will also never dry up. Castor oil will eventually thicken and dry out. I think it was Wolk that use to relabel the castor oil, among other things.
