Looking for a Gates TruFlex V-Belt 0220. They class them as a 2L220. Which is a 22 inch x 1/4. It is the right hand drive belt for the unit. It appears that Gates don't manufacture this size any more. Jump from 20 inch to 23 inch. Only problem is the tolerance is critical. The original belt is closer to 21 7/8 inches. Because the viewer originates from our friends in the US, I am hoping that someone has an old belt gathering dust. Have tried Gates (Australia), no luck. Also trying to get a counter + the Magnetic/Optical option as well. Very aware that these will be a slim change, but just though I would ask. The right hand drive belt is the only one I cannot source. If you guys can help, please let me know. Thanks

Moviola (the company) still exists. You might be able to get something from them. Also, try Christy's Editorial in Burbank, CA.

Hi Scott,

Yes, tried them and also contacted the company that bought out Moviola in the 1980's. No luck in both cases. I am just hoping someone in the states has any old stock sitting on the shelf, it will probably outlast me and the LVR. Thanks for the leads though.

Hi Dave,
I am not familiar with this product, but looked it up and correct if I am wrong, but it looks like round tubing. The system the LVR uses, is a one way centrifugal clutch with fingers and ball bearings that lock the fingers to the inside V-pulley clutch. Their designed only to work one way and slip when driven in reverse. When the switch is turned right the centrifugal clutch(RHS) drives. When the switch is turned to the left the (LHS) drives the V-Belt and the (RHS) slips in reverse. A very impressive piece of engineering by you guys in the states. They are very easy to maintenance and look like they were design to last the life of the machine. I have been able to replace the left hand V-belt and the two smaller V-belts on the outside that drive the spools. It is just this one belt that Gates do not make any more. And as these to belts are design to slip one way, there is a gradual narrowing of the 1/4 inch V belt wall, which eventually becomes to narrow to grip the side wallls of the centrifugal clutch walls.

I hope this explanation makes sense. Anyway I appreciate the responses. I am just hoping that some one will read this and tell me they have one [Big Grin] .

Google search is your best friend, found these vendors:

One

Another

Amazon options

These are US based vendors, but most should ship to Australia. I am sure Amazon would.

Glad to be of assistance. [thumbsup]

I have a friend and former roomie in Melbourne, I have been wanting to go visit him for some time. Money and health issues have interfered however.

If you ever want to visit the U.S. let me know. I live in rural Idaho so if you like to hunt or fish....lol.

Spent some time travelling from New York to the west coast some years ago now. Big country, just more populated than here. Out Prime Minister is visiting over there at the moment. If he starts causing any trouble, put him on a boat and send him home.

I mentioned in the original add about finding a broken down LVR which may have a working counter or the sound module, which includes both Optical and Magnetic. I know finding one will be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, but will just put it out there just in case.

Anyway pretty stoked about getting the one belt that I was unable to source locally. Thanks to every one.
