BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Projectionist to join the
projection team at the Science Museum IMAX Cinema. In this role you will
take on the day-to-day delivery of the operation and any maintenance of IMAX
and SimEx projection, audiovisual / communication services.
Working as part of the Projection team, you will work on a rota to operate
all projection equipment ensuring that shows are delivered professionally
and to the highest standards at all times.
The post requires a highly motivated individual with excellent communication
skills. A working knowledge of IMAX and 35mm projection and sound systems
is desirable.
The Projectionist will have a good technical aptitude and will be able to
demonstrate ability to accurately and reliably handle high-pressure problems
from a variety of sources. Experience with practical technical issues and
maintaining high presentation and cleanliness standards is also desirable.
Strong attention to detail is essential.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Projection Manager to take the
responsibility of the projection operation at the Science Museum IMAX
Cinema. Primarily, the Projection Manager role is to take on the full
operational responsibility for the projection room on a day-to-day basis.
In
doing this you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all
IMAX and SimEx projection, audiovisual / communication services at the
Science Museum, South Kensington, whilst keeping costs to a minimum.
You will responsible for maintaining the presentation skills of the
Projection team, ensuring that every show is delivered professionally and
uninterrupted. All staff are to be trained to the highest standards in
presentation, film make up, routine maintenance and problem solving.
The post holder will also assume a hands-on managerial role, undertaking
staff appraisals, performance management, staff development, but also
assuming the role of duty projectionist as staffing needs require.
You will be expected to have excellent communication skills and be able to
develop good working relationships with various internal departments at all
levels and also with high profile external clients.
The post requires a highly motivated individual with a very good knowledge
of IMAX and 35mm projection and sound systems is essential.
The Projection Manager will have strong technical skills and will be able
to
demonstrate ability to accurately and reliably handle high-pressure problems
technical problems from a variety of sources. Ability to maintain
presentation and cleanliness to the highest standard and attention to detail
is essential.
Experience with practical management issues is desirable though not
essential. However, being responsible for the development and well being
of
the projection team will mean that the ability to lead and motivate a team
and deliver results is essential.
