The Science Museum is a world-class institution. To maintain it’s position we are responsible for ensuring that the quality of the visitor experience is of the highest standard, equivalent to best international practice in attractions of comparable international standing to the Science Museum.
The Projection Manager role is to take on the full operational responsibility for the projection room on a day-to-day basis. In doing this you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all IMAX and SimEx projection, audiovisual / communication services at the Science Museum, South Kensington, whilst keeping costs to a minimum. The Science Museum is part of the IMAX Service Partnership Programme and the Projection Manager will be required to undertake training to become a Certified Chief Projectionist.
You will responsible for maintaining the presentation skills of the Projection team, ensuring that every show is delivered professionally and uninterrupted. All staff are to be trained to the highest standards in presentation, film make up, routine maintenance and problem solving including liaising with IMAX Corporation or their representatives.
The post holder will also assume a hands-on managerial role, undertaking staff appraisals, performance management, staff development, but also assuming the role of duty projectionist as staffing needs require.
You will be expected to have excellent communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships with various internal departments at all levels and also with high profile external clients.
