Author Topic: Big Fish William Hooper Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1879 From: Mobile, AL USA Registered: Jun 99 posted 05-10-2004 03:15 AM                        What the hell kind of accent was Ewan McGregor supposed to be doing? I've never heard anything like it in the southeast US or anywhere else in the world. Weirdest & most distracting were the long A's & I's that sounded like a drunken Bostonian. Yet another reminder of why I avoid movies that lean on regional US accents. Albert Finney did a good job, though. The credits said it was filmed around Montgomery, Alabama - obviously about the dead of wintertime, or there would have been no scenery but kudzu. His accent, while not accurate...is great for the role. I'm sure it was done on purpose. Also, it was filmed in dead-winter b/c in many scenes you can see them breathing  |  IP: Logged
