Author Topic: Eyes Wide Shut Tom Petrov Five Guys Lover Posts: 1121 From: El Paso, TX Registered: Jan 2003 posted 01-30-2011 07:58 AM                    **** What a great movie looking back at this 12 years later. I thought this movie was underated when it was released, looking back at this movie, it should of got a lot more praise at the time, especially from the Academy. Also, this is the type of movie Tom Cruise should be making today. Attach himself with big name director or solid script and don't worry about the paycheck and Tom will notice that his career will come back. Just look at the films Nicole Kidman is making. The attention to detail, shot composition, score, are all outstanding. The acting is also good and and mystery as to the whole underground sex scene is fascinating. I have always liked Sydney Pollack and he is great in this. Its too bad Tom Cruise has not evolved into something more than just a movie star. Nicole Kidman is taking on awesome roles and I wish Cruise would do the same. I have read there is a uncut version of this film with no digital editing during the orgy scene.
