The anti-digital folks will probably be annoyed by the growing number of D-Cinema installations (which now hovers around 3,000 screens domestic), many of which are showing "Spider-Man 3" and are listed below.

The 13th Avenue Warren theater here in Wichita is also testing out three digital projectors on Spiderman 3.

It's pretty ridiculous how many screens are booked with Spiderman 3.

I laughed when spotting the Carmike Cinema 3 in Oneida, TN playing Spiderman 3 in digital cinema on all 3 of its screens. That's a town in eastern Tenn. near the Kentucky border. It's not near much of anything else.

The Carmike 8 here in Lawton has it playing on 3 screens full time and doubled up with another movie on a 4th screen. With the shows being digital-based, the midnight shows will fill as many auditoriums that demand dictates.

From my regional perspective, I find it a little odd none of the theaters in Oklahoma City or Tulsa are playing Spiderman 3 digitally. The movie is playing in DMR'ed IMAX at a Cinemark location in Tulsa. If the movie had actually been shot in 70mm I might have considered the 200 mile drive.

While Spiderman 3 has a lot of digital-based theaters booked, it will be interesting to see how many of those screens the movie retains come next Friday. I have a feeling we'll see a big drop off on attendance percentage, but I don't think Sony cares about that. They clearly want that opening weekend box office record.

Another thing I'm curious about is how many digital cinemas are playing Spiderman 3 in 4K? Are any doing it at all? My understanding is this movie had a 4K digital intermediate.

Do you know what kind of systems they're trying? I'm pretty curious about the d-cinema plans of Warren Theaters considering they're currently building a massive 20-plex in Moore, OK -about an hour's drive from where I live.

All I know is one Christie and two Barcos, no idea on the particular models or what servers are being used as I haven't see it myself yet. They're not advertising the fact that they're using digital, but it's not a secret (I asked before posting.)

And I agree that Spiderman 3 is being over-booked: Assuming I counted right, there are 15 prints being ran in Wichita. [Eek!]

That list is a little short. Galaxy Waterloo is running it. I'd image others are too.

In regards to 4k, Odeon Guildford over here is running it in three screens on the 4k Sony SXRD with Sonys own servers. The rest of our Digital sites are playing in 2k as far as I'm aware.

In the same cinema it's also playing in 2k on another screen with a Christie.

Cinemark's 1 digital screen in Springfield is running "Meet The Robinsons 3D" for matinees, and "Spider-Man 3" in the evening. (35mm version is running on 5 of their other 16 screens.)

Carmike seems to be running it on 19 of their 37 local screens, which I believe are all DLP now.

I'm also counting 18 35mm screens amongst the other exhibitors around town.

I haven't seen things this silly since that ridiculous big budget "Godzilla" movie in '98.

It is odd that the Dole Camnery 18 here in Honolulu is still holding on to "MEET THE ROBINSON'S" in 3-D. I thought for sure they would have booked "SPIDERMAN 3" to play in their only D-Cinema house. The last non 3-D digital film to play at the Dole was 300 and the presentation was awesome.

Since I will not have the opportunity to see the film in digital at the Dole, I will go to Pacific;s Ward Centre and enjoy the film in one of their large auditorium in SDDS-8
