Hello

does anybody have any info on the new Sony closed captioning glasses? Used them? Do they really act as 3D glasses also? No info of pricing for these on the internet but i suspect it would be futile to have 300 pairs of these for a single screen?

Also, in 2010 USL announced their glasses, but i haven't seen anything tangible anywhere on the net for that.

Any info appreciated.

I've tried the Sony glasses briefly at a local cinema expo, the effect was good. Subs were clearly visible even under bright lighting. They are not stand-alone 3D glasses, but they will be able to work with Real D and other circular polarized systems by sticking proprietary add-on film on top of the lenses. No pricing yet that I know of.

In the US I think pricing for Sony's, as I understand it, will be a little painful but not terribly so.
< $2k per house.

USL, Inc. is still perfecting the glass mold to optimize comfort for the consumer. We do have the CCR-100, Closed Caption Receiver and emitter panels available now and have sold thousands of them. The glasses should be done in another month or so.
