Hello,

Since converting to digital we haven't had any rentals so this is my first time around the block. The customer has his film transcoded in ProRes LT on his KiPro and wants to try the SDI input on our nec. Is this going to work? Any tips about playing content (other than what we get from tech/deluxe) on NECs with a GDC server would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Should work, providing the signal is one of the supported resolutions/frequencies.

You will need to adjust in the "title" for the proper color space, interlaced or not, and that sort of thing.

Update.

We were able to play the film via his KiPro Mini. The HDSDI port worked swimmingly, but had to fool around with the audio a bit as we were using the headphone output on the KiPro. There was very little (if any) audible distortion. I had to call in a tech to help with some of the "title" settings, but he was happy to assist.

Now if our corporate office knew what a DCP was we wouldn't have had such a headache on our hands.... but I digress.

Thanks for the reply Steve.
