The CAT790 may work better if you use the unbalanced output. So, try to make a separate cable for the corresponding inputs on the CAT790. There is a document describing the weird input port assignment of the CAT790 here: http://outty.org/Content/CinemaTech/Dolby/CP650/Cat.%20No.790%20Installation%20Instructions.pdf From your thin description I guess it's the dreaded robosound issue. But with a modified cable, it could potentially even cure that issue, or make it happen less often. - Carsten  |  IP: Logged
