I have NEC 2500S-A projectors (2500S with the FFIB upgrade) running the same TI (15.1), firmware (2.11), and data (2.16) versions but the BIOS version is different (some are on 1.02, others have 1.10). For whatever reason, the machines running BIOS 1.10 seem to have far fewer problems while the units running 1.02 sporadically experience image pixilation at the start of a show or lose their lens positioning, both of which are (temporarily) resolved by rebooting the projector.

The documentation on NEC's Partner Net site states the BIOS is in flash memory on the CPU PWB but doesn't state how to update it or where to obtain the update file from.

Does anyone know if the BIOS on NEC Series 1 projectors can be updated in the field? If so, where do I go to obtain the update file / update procedures?
