Where is the easiest way to find out info about film releases, specifically if they are Flat or Scope?

IMDB is usually pretty reliable. If the info isn't there, you can usually just tell by watching a trailer on Youtube. Also:

If you know what flat and scope look like, you can often figure that out by just watching the trailers. Usually - but not always - the aspect ratio of the trailer will be the same as the movie.

My top three sites for movie information are
http://www.imdb.com
http://www.comingsoon.net
http://www.boxofficemojo.com

If you're looking for release dates, Box Office Mojo (BOM) and ComingSoon.net are typically the most up to date. Same for movie ratings

If you're looking for content for a movie - trailers, links, synopsis, etc, then ComingSoon is usually the best.

Obviously BOM is the best place to go box office performance information.

IMDb is typically the best source for technical information - cast and crew, filming, tech specs, sound track listings, and so forth. But their information is not always up to date for movies prior to their release. IMDb is also a good place to go for movies still in the development stage.

Ahhh- Michael, I respectfully disagree with you somewhat an that point.

I can't tell you how many times I've checked IMDB for a film running time,
and have seen them have an aspect ratio listed, and I'm sitting there with
the actual 35mm film print or a DCP in front of me and it's in a totally
different aspect ratio than what they've got on IMDB. [Confused]

I'd say they're right a 'reasonable' amount of times, but if I really need to
have the info, I not only try IMDB, but I simply search using a search term
something like "<Insert Film Title Here>, Aspect Ratio" and pick the aspect
ratio that the most sites seem to agree on.

Christopher - When and Why do you need that info? The cinematic trailers are usually the only solid early reference. YouTube trailers very often are created for general PR purposes, TV, etc. and may be reframed to 16:9.
