Hi I just bought a theater about a month and a half ago. I have never worked at one or anything just jumped in head first. Reading these forums and talking with our NOC tech I have learn more about projectors and DCP's than I would have ever thought. That being said we have no pre show at the theater. I have been slowly building one through DCP-o-matic and have about 11min of content but as I'm seeing I will not be able to run same videos & trivia week after week. So is there a site that has premade trivia or something like that and then I can put in local ads once I get them signed up? Thank you for all your help and knowledge.

I've never heard of such a source but I wish there was one!

There is a company called Cinetize that makes snipes (such as "Previews of Coming Attractions") and will custom make their titles for a fee. Their work is OK but not outstanding given today's animation possibilities. (cinetize.com)

You might want to consider recording local people, such as high school kids, doing video questions and answers or such things as that. If you get the school A/V department involved, you could probably work out a deal where you keep getting new content all the time. People would love to see their kids on the big screen too, so it's a win-win.

I like Mike's idea. Besides taking most of the work off of you, it involves the community.

That aside, you could just create a couple different trivia templates where you copy and paste in trivia you find on line. You should be able to find tons of obscure movie trivia you can use.

Thanks for all the replies and thanks for a great Idea Mike that will work perfect for us since we live in a very small 1600 population community. And involving the school will be very beneficial for both of us. Thanks again

Check out Before the Movie for your on-screen advertising needs.

Nice thing about smartphones, is that you can make your own AVI's where DCP-o-Matic can easily convert to DCP. I've made a few on-location promos and ads for our location with excellent results.

Good Luck - Monte
