Hello everyone. I'm Byron, projeccionista work in a university hall. I have the NEC nc900c and 2000show doremi vault + IMB.
my query is as follows: project a film that every time the sound was ragged. especially in musical scenes. when he finished the probe function again conflicting parties, and this time everything perfect. some time ago I happened with another film. but it was several months ago. that problem is ... firmware, cables.etc.? greetings from Chile.
pd: sorry my English translator using google.

Do a forum search on 'CP650 Robosound'.

Just to make sure: if you follow the sound cable, from DCP2000 to CP650, where is it connected to the CP650? What input is used?
"OPTION CARD 1/0" or "6-CH AUDIO INPUT"?
If the latter, is there any device between DCP2000 and CP650? A D/A converter of some sort?
/M.E.

IMB to CP650 could also involve the dreadful Doremi RJ45 converter, another potential source of failure. Get rid of it, solder a dedicated cable from proper S/FTP.

Thank you very much for your answers. it became clear that the problem is the cat 790.
if presented again I will try to reset the CP650. or change the format. greetings from Chile..

If the problem comes back (and I´m afraid it will):
1) Like Carsten wrote, check the cable or make a new one. Make it as short as you can, use good shielded 2-conductor/channel pair and have as few obstacles in the signal path as possible.
2) If that doesn´t help, consider CP650 fw. 2.3.7.2 BETA. This never became an official Dolby release (?) but it has killed "robosound" on every CP650/Cat790 i have been dealing with.
Btw, be very careful when updating a CP650. It can easily get bricked if you use improper equipment [uhoh]
