Author Topic: bad power supply on IMS1000 Carsten Kurz Film God Posts: 4340 From: Cologne, NRW, Germany Registered: Aug 2009 posted 08-08-2016 08:58 AM                     A fellow tech experienced a power supply (circuit) breakdown on an IMS1000. Now, the only 'detachable' module on the IMS1000 seems to be the RAID card (and that's probably the reason that RAID card is the only spare part in Dolbys pricelist for the IMS1000). Does anyone know wether they offer to repair these? I guess you mean the power regulator section or similar. Does the IMS put the SMS and the IMB on the same board?  |  IP: Logged Carsten Kurz Film God Posts: 4340 From: Cologne, NRW, Germany Registered: Aug 2009 posted 08-08-2016 11:44 AM                     The exploded (cheers Mark!) view in the training material shows it is a single board, with only the RAID card, boot-flashdisc and hard drives being detachable. So it's all SMD stepdown-regulators on the mainboard creating the necessary voltages from the projector slot supply. And it's not easy SMD stuff, but the 'state-of-the-art' type that needs expensive special tools. Just wondering wether anyone dealt with Doremi directly regarding possible repairs. - Carsten  |  IP: Logged
