Just a note of warning... We will be releasing v1.6 JANOS for your Series 4 JNIORs. The UPD will be available the first week of January (2017). The Support Tool update project will likely follow (hound Rick for it). Gee... hard to believe it's 2017? I remember my cousins crying on New Year's Eve about the end of the 50's back in 1960! You know, back when we watched the Wizard Of Oz switch from B&W to color right in front of our own eyes!
Unlike the other corporations that I need not name, our updates do not break anything. These correct issues and each provides a new level of integrity and reliability. I will personally stand behind that. It is my work.
We do add some features along the way.
Notably a NETSTAT -C option creates a network.pcapng file that when uploaded can be opened directly by Wireshark. For your on-the-wire network debugging pleasure this is a must. The capture is pro-active. It runs all of the time and can be filtered either in real-time or when the file is generated.
The Support Tool update project will provide the Dynamic Configuration Pages (DCP) v1.3 which eliminates the Java applet issues those of you who use Series 3 are growing familiar with. This DCP will allow you to access the Command Console without Telnet, transfer files without FTP, watch the system log in real-time, and even access peer JNIORs on the network. In fact, this covers everything you need to manage the unit. For utmost security you could disable all the unit's ports save port 443 (and 9200 or others you use) and work fully and securely with the unit.
Also, we've corrected a major glitch with TLS secure access. If you are using HTTPS to access the JNIOR on port 443, FTP in a secure mode or even Telnet for the Command Console (requires INTEG client to my knowledge) this update is a must.
OK. That end's my sales/marketing pitch. If anyone wants technical details I'll be happy to get into it with you. If you are dealing with an issue, I can let you know whether it will be corrected with this update. Otherwise, if you get to me soon enough v1.6 might have the fix even if it doesn't now. I'm working through the holidays.
