Just out and available on dolbycustomer.com now. Per the release notes, it adds support for the CP950, adds a feature that enables you to force disable synchronizing the server's clock with that of the cat745 (for use if the IMB's secure clock has drifted beyond redemption, I guess) and several other more minor bug fixes.

More than minor. I believe it has a fix for when the CRU bay doesn't stop reading (keeping one from scanning another drive without rebooting). The CP950 is the new "feature" the rest are bug fixes.

Note, neither mediablock is updated so anyone with valid kdms for 4.9.1 can do the update. There were no release versions of 4.9.2 and 4.9.3.

By "minor," I mean not serious enough to directly risk disruption or loss of shows without the intervention of a service tech. Yes, the bug whereby you can't dismount a USB or CRU drive without rebooting the server is on the list (DC-13420).

DSS/DSL 4.9.5.2 has been released for DSS200, DSS220 and DSL libraries. Note, CAT862 (SDI) servers don't need kdms if you are already on some form of 4.9.1. CAT745s are updated.

Though if you're upgrading a cat862 system, it will tell you, incorrectly, that the version file is unlicensed:

 -

This simply means that it can't see a KDM for cat862 firmware version 4.8.6.2 anywhere. But if that version is already installed (which it will be if you are running the server version 4.9.1.22 or later, as Steve mentions), there is no need to touch it, and so 4.9.5.2 will communicate with the media block OK after the reboot.

Leo,

That check will merely indicate that the license exists on the DSS200 itself, not what the CAT862 has on it. This has been true of all of the software updates.

Dolby version 4.9.4.5 needs to be avoided. If you mount a drive with multiple CPLs on there like a trailer drive, it will lose connection to the show store and render the server useless until it is power cycled. This issue was not present on 4.9.1.22

I can confirm version 4.9.5.2 resolves this problem, but as always there could be other bugs hiding in the background.

The only bug I've encountered on 4.9.5.2 is that you will get ingest/transfers that will say done but the progress bar may be less than 100% during the verification process.

It is my current go-to version but, as always, I hope for the bug fix to the noted above minor problem.

Really Mark? I guess GDC just brings out new builds for yucks! The "bug" in 4.9.5.2 is minor and causes no issues with operation.

And, unlike others, the DSS200 (or DSS220...or even DSS100) can ingest or transfer content, at full speed...while playing! I don't think any other servers, to this day, can do that. I just heard that the GDC streaming server doesn't ingest (or ingest at any speed) while it is streaming content. I guess it can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

I've still only semi-retired one DSS200 server...converted it to a DSL200...where it operates to this day. Can't say the same for GDC...just changed out another one this past week.

Never had bug issues after a certain 8.XX build, nor any bugs with the old 7.8

Uh huh...never had audio channels mysterious switch on you? Mind you, GDC's software is pretty bug-free but isn't completely bug free. Then again, it also doesn't add features as time goes as much as Dolby did...with features seems to be bugs...it's the way of things.
