Found this posting on the AMIA newsgroup, July 7:Hello all, I teach film studies at Bryn Mawr College. Our "sister school," Haverford College, is getting rid of some projectors, which it hasn't used in several years. One is a 16mm Zeiss Ikon pedestal; the others are two 35mm Simplex projectors. According to the local technicians (I haven't seen any of this equipment), the Zeiss machine is about 30 years old, and the Simplex machines about 35-40 years old; none of the machines have been maintained and may be in varying degrees of disrepair. Bryn Mawr doesn't currently have a room large enough, or with the right electrical system, to house either set-up. But there has been some talk at the college of constructing a better facility or even of taking over a local theater. Would if be worth trying to store and/or repair these machines? If I can't convince our a/v department to do so, would any list members be interested in getting hold of them? Jonathan Kahana Department of English
