Author Topic: For Sale: NEC iS8-2K projector -- SOLD Trevor Cable Film Handler Posts: 22 From: Hillsboro, OR, USA Registered: Jan 2011 posted 02-16-2012 12:13 PM                     This is a fantastic smaller projector in excellent condition except for one small minor trivial issue: It won't power on. The TI board was occasionally resetting itself which was causing a test pattern to flash on the screen for about 10 seconds. To fix this issue we upgraded the various firmwares. This caused us to lose picture all together and after another firmware 'fix' we can't power on the projector. We had to purchase a new projector because we couldn't have any downtime and getting this repaired could take weeks at least. So, if you are still reading after all of that this would be a good projector for someone with repairs skills or perhaps you need parts. One of the two lamphouses even has a fairly new bulb. This projector has a great custom crate and is ready to go for a reasonable price. The lens itself cost us around $5000 so that's what I'm going to try getting for the whole package. We were using this with a RealD Z-Screen so if you are handy with electronics and need a 3D projector for a small screen this could be a great solution. This projector also runs off 120V or 208V so can be used for a home theater solution as well (if you can get it to work that is).
