us release for this film is sam as above except it is Paramount Pictures and the attached trailer was Tomb Raider

Doesn't the U.S. release only feature DTS and Dolby Digital soundtracking? Paramount hasn't issued a North American print with SDDS on it since "Mission: Impossible 2".

It has SDDS, I checked. Anyone know the story of why Paramount doesn't use SDDS? Their trailers always have it, but most of their films don't.

it probably boils down to a contractual agreement between the three companies SDDS, SRD &DTS.

AFAIK, the distributor pays a licensing fee for each digital format on the print, plus the cost of putting that format on the sound negative and QC'ing the tracks at the lab. So it's an economic decision based on which formats the prints need to play in for each market.
