Would you know the resolution used for this digital scanning?

I'm curious about this process too, so I posted a question on rec.arts.movies.tech

Well, paraphrasing the responses on rec.arts.movies.tech: Panic Room was shot on 3-perf 35mm and scanned at 2K. All the effects were inserted in the digital domain. The final image was "digitally graded" (not sure what that means), and the resulting digital imagery was output to an anamorphic interpositive. We Were Soldiers, Amelie, Lord of the Rings, and O Brother Where Art Thou apparently used similar technology in part or in whole.

As I understand it, Panic Room was scanned in at 4K, not 2K. Then again the info I got could be wrong, but it came from a reliable source. Anyone know David Fincher?

David Fincher, David Fincher. Where do I know that name from? Oh, THAT David Fincher. Yes, he may very well be a reliable authority.

Check your masking. Very unusual, the frame line (opposite soundtrack)isnot as full, frame line shot to the left of the masking, I had to move in the masking just a tad but it was annoying. its 2:40:1 so maybe thats it? just a small problem. and yes I checked my projector setting after noticing the problem with a loose trailer.

Also, Spiderman was enclosed with all prints and is being very publicized, yet Regal did not include it in the trailer package lists. Mine is one in addition to the rest, others may not have put on the trailer.

Attached: Enough
Loose: Spiderman
Bourne Identity
Murder By numbers
Minority Report ver. 2
Sweetest Thing

Would this means that it is neither Super 35 nor Proper anamorphic scope?

No, it is still considered Super 35. A production can be originated in Super 35 in either 3-perf or 4-perf.

The camera aperture for 4-perf Super-35 is usually 0.980 x 0.735 inches. For 3-perf Super-35 it is usually 0.980 x 0.546 inches.

The 1.85:1 image area extracted is 0.945 x 0.511 inches.

The 2.39:1 image area extracted is 0.945 x 0.394 inches.
