I did a search and found nothing about Atom Egoyan's "The Sweet Hereafter" in this part of the forums. I'm posting this because I have been watching a broadcast of this (I think excellent) film on Independent Film Channel.

What I would like to know is: is this a 'scope movie or not? It seems pretty damned confusing to me. It appears to be an anamorphic photographed show. But it is framed for 1.85:1 on IFC, who normally uses OAR on most of its shows. The photography seems to have that anamorphic look to it, but it also seems that some strong attempts were made to hide the anamorphic look. Know what I mean?

Can anyone provide the actual film release details? TIA.
