Being a new movie, and being a comedy, and it being Friday night, I expected a fairly good-sized crowd to show up for this movie, so I bought my ticket an hour early. At the time for the start of the show, five entire people other than myself had shown up. Eventually, a total of about 30 showed up, which was way less than I expected.

Is it just me, or are movies getting stranger as time goes on? This movie was definitely entertaining and had some good funny moments that drew good laughs from the audience. I recommend seeing this movie, but I'm not sure if I liked it enough to buy the DVD when it comes out (the ultimate test).

To me, the movie seemed to be creative, switching between the fantasy "nightmare" world and the real one. The animated 2D cartoon scene at the beginning of the movie was the funniest thing in the movie, in my opinion, and drew the most laughs from the audience. Brendan Fraser is good at being funny, and this movie was pretty good, but not the best. I remember "George of the Jungle" and "Dudley Do Right" as being very dumb but funny. This movie was perhaps a bit smarter its way of being weird, but wasn't quite as funny overall as I expected. The dead gymnast running around decomposing and losing organs was just plain gross.

I recommend seeing the movie.
